Massage at Puspa Ayu Spa in Kerobokan Bali

Bali has a ton of spas and massage places. In an effort to check them out I asked Ika if she would like to go for a massage. She said yes and we went to Puspa Ayu spa in Kerobokan. This spa is at the rear of Bali Ayu hotel and is located on Jl. Petitenget. Arriving the place was totally quiet at 1pm. Walking to the spa area we saw 2 Balinese ladies in their sarongs and had a look at the menu. Ika choose a deal where they give you and hour of rubbing various remedies on you plus a half hour massage.

The range of materials they use includes salt, tumeric and avocado. I popped in during the process to watch Ika getting pasted with tumeric, the yellow stuff they put in curry powder. She said it was thick and felt cold. Jevon and I went to the restaurant area, which had 5 staff and no customers. He was good for 30 minutes but then threw a fit and we had to get him some of mama’s milk. My friend Putu was working at reception and told me we were the only customers the spa had today. Yesterday they had no customers.

When Ika reappeared she said her skin felt nice and smooth and she is relaxed. The whole thing cost 75,000rp. I told her she can come back every week if she wants. It takes time to get used to massage, I’ve tried to like it, and have been to various places. I’m so damn twitchy that I don’t relax fully and that’s part of the problem. Ika said next time she’d like to try the avocado rub, I suggested sambal, but that didn’t meet with much approval.
