Rafting in Bali

Adventure sports can be part of a Bali holiday, and I’m not just talking about drinking arak and chasing the local ladies. Surfing has been a huge draw for a long time and river rafting is now one of the activities that are popular. Bali’s wet season is Nov – Mar and the rivers will be running the best during that time. If you are staying in the Kuta / Nusa Dua / Sanur area often times the rafting company will pick you up at your hotel.

The Ubud are is the most commonly used rafting spot, with the 3 choice rivers being the Class II Sungai Ayung, the Class III Sungai Telaga Waja and Sungai Unda. You can book rafting all over most tourist spots at street side travel counters. You can also book at your hotel, or contact the prvider direct, which is the best way to go. When on a rafting trip lunch is usually provided, but you much bring, t-shirt, sandal, shorts, sunscreen. Extra dry clothes are a good idea too. Prices may vary and can be between $45 and $75.
