Ana and Ferry: My helpers in Bali

Ana from Java is our pembantu (helper) who does a very good job, Mon-Sat, 9am-5pm. Ika likes her for 3 reasons; 1) She is Javanese, so they can natter away and cook food that each other likes, 2) Ana is around all day doing stuff, 3) Ana does not precede her, in respect to me.

Ana is very good with Jevon and he prefers to be fed by her. Once in a while Ana’s husband Ferry comes by an does the garden, when things get a bit unruly. We have 2 trees at either ends of our porch that grow like weeds and produce white flowers. These flowers are pollen factories and Ika suffers. Ferry gets into them with a chopper and
when he’s finished only a 6ft high stump is left. Don’t worry, this doesn’t kill the tree and in 3 months it will be 20 ft tall again with branches and flowers.

Ferry took my old Stavol to get it fixed without me asking him and totally refused the 20,000rp Ika offered him. The Stavol was toast but I appreciate his efforts. Nice people altogether.
