Things to Do in Nusa Dua

One might think there is very little to do in this area of upmarket hotels and expensive restaurants, but, it might surprise you to know that there are a few things to do and some of them, adventurous and thrilling to the senses.

Nusa Dua is the playground for the well-heeled who have more money than sense. Well, you would get that impression when you drive north towards the port of Tanjung Benoa past the luxurious five-star hotels. But, it is not a place that is exclusive to those staying there. You can partake in any of the ocean activities such as big-game fishing, snorkelling and diving.

This watersports playground stretches along the white sand beach parallel to Jalan Pratama and it is on this stretch of road you will find all the watersport centres that operate in the area. It’s a fun place for all the family with activities including parasailing, jet-skiing, water-skiing, kayaking and wakeboarding, amongst others.

If thrillseeking is not your forte then have a look around the old port of Tanjung Benoa with its interesting array of old boats and prahus. One place worth seeing is the Ling Gwan Kiong Chinese Temple with its gaudy statues. Also in the areas are an excellent Hindu temple and an interesting mosque.

Nusa Dua is not for everyone and definitely not to everyone’s liking but it is an interesting place worth spending a morning looking around.
