Treasure: Thanks for all the hard work guys

Treasure hunters from France and Germany have been arrested in Java, after trying to ship 7 containers of Indonesian antiques back to Europe.

The antiques were recovered from ship wrecks on the ocean floor, containing ceramics and pieces of glassware, from the period 907 to 960 AD. These artifacts indicate that the Chinese were trading in the area, spanning China’s Five Dynasties period.

The European team spent over 5m Euros to get the antiques, regularly communicating with Indonesian officials and sending videos of finds. They were hoping to put the items up for auction and give 50% to Indonesia. Don’t you love the way things work out here? Let some foreigners do all the hard work, spend all the time and money recovering the goods, then arrest them and confiscate it! The 2 Europeans are looking at a 5-10 year jail sentence if found guilty.
