Easter Sunday: National holiday in Indonesia

Good Friday and Easter Sunday are National public holidays in Indonesia. Indonesia actually has a large Christian population and I know Javanese Christians who go back to Jakarta for Easter.

Tomorrow is Easter Sunday and security is being beefed up in Jakarta. Here in Bali its way more mellow scene than in stressed out Java. Balinese people are total fine with churches being around and there isn’t a security problem.

If you are in Bali for Easter Sunday and want to attend a church service, ask your hotel manager for suggestions on the nearest one. Here is a Protestant church in Denpasar.

Being a Muslim, I unfortunately won’t be able to take part in any church services or prayer rituals, but send my best wishes to all that will.
