Hello to all BootsnAll members and friends. I arrived in Bali at around 5pm local time today. The skies were overcast but the temps were steamy. I was here in ’93 and am looking forward to seeing how the island has changed.
My processing through immigration and customs went very smoothly. People are freindly and eager to say hello, this is cool. Of course, the Balinese are experienced at working the toursits but anyway I like it.
I got a taxi from the airport to Kuta for $3 and a room for $10. The room is basic, double bed, bathtub and shower attachment that doubles as your toilet paper (gone are the days of butter!). My first beer was about $1 so you see it’s not hard to stay alive here. Definitely have got to get used to the humidity and jet lag but personally I enjoy the warmer temps.

The place I’m staying, Yan’s Hotel is on a busy street with a karaoke bar next door…lucky me.
Have to buy some sandles as my feet are frying and will be posting regular updates. Keep watching this space.
