THE FIRST INDONESIAN SURFING CHAMPIONSHIP WILL BE STARTED

In purpose to enlarge surfing in Indonesia, required to do some efforts that will improve Indonesian surfer’s quality. So, Indonesian’s surfers will be qualified to show their skills in the world-class competition that automatically will raise Indonesia’s name.

This has become the major concern of some companies, the surf industry license holder, in Indonesia that is to improve the Indonesian surfer’s quality, and make it recognized all over the world. And as the result, some surf industry companies were agree to held some open pro contest.

For the first Indonesian Surfing Championship, will be held 7 contests i.e :
- 6th of June 2004, Billabong Pro in Keramas, Blahbatuh Gianyar-Bali (6 stars) ;
- 11th-31st of July 2004 (waiting period), Rip Curl Pro in Padang-Padang, Uluwatu – Bali (4 stars) ;
- 15th of August 2004, Quiksilver Pro in Halfway, Kuta – Bali (6 stars) ;
- 21th of August 2004, Planet Surf, Insight and Spyderbilt Pro in Cimaja – West Java (4 stars);
- 10th of September 2004, Quiksilver Pro in Cimaja – West Java (4 stars);
- 19th of September 2004, Rusty Pro in Canggu, Kuta – Bali (4 stars) ; and
- 3rd of October 2004, Kuta Lines Pro, in Halfway, Kuta – Bali (4 stars).

Every Indonesian surfer expected to enter the whole series, so at the end of the series, the surfer that collected the highest score will be awarded as the Indonesian Surfing Champion. The score collected will count based on the contest’s stars and the position reached in each contest.

Prepare yourself ….. be the Indonesian Surfing Champion !!!
