In this day and age there are no new surf breaks in Bali, but I know for example that places like Jasri in East Bali do sometimes get surf, with not to many other people around.
Even on the Bukit if you pick the right day in the off season you’ll find okay waves with not too many people. Guys like Palu and Paul Callahan now live in Bali and make boards. The advent of leg ropes means you won’t be all at sea after your first dunking. New technology like removable fins and durable epoxy boards make travelling to a remote place with a couple of boards possible.
Surfari’s or surf tours as they are known can be booked easily and offer you the whole of Indo. The epicenter of this industry in Jl. Benesari in Kuta, where you will find warungs, guests houses and surf tour places like SurfTravelOnline.

Great site. My wife and I are coming in early 2006. Do you recommend Langhawa Beach inn, Sari sanur, or Agung village in Seminyak ? Greatly appreciated !
