Surf Report 10/31/2003

Okay the waves this morning are still relatively small but on the in coming tide today we should see some fun waves out on the Bukit and also in the Kuta area, especially on the beachbreaks.

Uluwatu was looking very inviting early with some nice shape waves in the 3 to 4 feet range and the crowds were not to bad either.

Dreamland and Balangan on the low tide also was producing a few clean small walls in the 2 to 3 feet range with the odd bigger one on the sets.

This afternoon Bingin will have a few quality waves but you will have to be patient as the swell is still pretty inconsistent.

Nusa Dua point was probably the pick spot this morning with a solid 4 to 5 feet of swell reeling down the reef ………….conditions were great with some very long racey rides on offer.

Turtle Island was looking the goods although the tide was a lil low ………but still every 15 mins a few nice shaped peaks would pop up.

In the Kuta and Legian area the beach breaks have been in good form with some very consistent left and right hand banks giving the boys some action after the long flat spell we have been enduring.

Hi Paul,

I would love to come out and visit and surf your new found land. I was wondering if you could set me up with a surf guide, I mean some local that I could pay to show me all the great surfspots? Is this possible. When do you feel is the best time of the year to surf Bali? I am not looking for big waves but fun waves that are not intimidating. I understand that things are pretty cheap there. I live in Orange County Calif and surf Trestles almost every day, I am a very young 54 yr old that loves to surf and travel.

Looking forward to hearing back from you,

Jacob

Hi Jacob,
I can hook you up with Bali locals who can show you all the surfspots. Best time of year is your summer, June to September, although ALL YEAR is good. Budget around US$30 a day for food and accommodation (and most transport needs). More info in my “INDO SURF & lingo” guidebook http://www.indosurf.com.au
