The surf in Bali was good today. I was at Serangan late in the afternoonand it looked pretty good. Too bad I was on shore with all the sheilas trying to make friends and get a feed.
DAILY TIDES

… HIGH TIDE …

Here is a photo taken recently from the Mentawai’s up off of the west coast of Sumatra. I was up there 11 years ago when you had to beat your way through the bush with a machete and fight the locals over a dead monkey for dinner. Things have changed a great deal…now they cook the moneky and serve it to you for 10,000rp.
Here’s a shot from Canggu and a couple from your favourite and mine Ulu’s.

Mark, I don’t know anything about surfing I’m just a bullshiter. There’s an old saying ‘If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance baffle them with bullshit’ and I use this to great effect.
Hey Nick, I like your honesty. For everything you need to know about SURFING in Bali (and the rest of Indo), just flip through the “Indo Surf & Lingo” guidebook, available in all Bali surfshops or from http://www.indosurf.com.au. Cheers mate.
Hi Peter, I think I met you in Good Luck in Kuta sometime ago with Peter Cox. If you have any other tips we’d love to have them.
Sure Nick, but the tips would fill a book - in fact, they already have!! 30 years of thrills and spills, jammed into “Indo Surf & Lingo”. Hope to see you in September at the Om Bali Contest.
Nick i like the surfing jargon mate…if i never knew anything about you mate i could easily imagine you as being a surf pro on the tour…i think you are getting a lot more intersted in the surfing game these days mate arent you eh ?
