Its has been one of the best surfing seasons on record according to Bali Waves, the local surf website. A surfer from Holland told me that in his opinion the waves this year have been very good for size although 2004 had better quality waves due to the wind among other things.
The first part of the week was very wet, especially where I was up at Batukaru. According to Bali Waves conditions here have dropped of recently but now it's back to the sunny weather. Riding over here I passed Good Luck restaurant on Jl. Benesari and waved at Peter Cox, owner of Surf Travel Online. As Bali Waves mentions, there is good surf all over Indo, so if it's not happening here in Bali for a while, jump on a plane and head out to Sumbawa or one of the other islands. Alternatively you can fix yourself up with a motorbike (I pay 400,000rp per month), surfboard rack and you can go on surfari to other islands. It's affordable and very interesting. Indonesia has to be the ultimate surfing destination in the world.
We will be getting some rain over the next couple of days, although it's sunny during the day. Here's the 10 day forecast.
