Driving around the surf spots with a friend

Driving around the surf spots with a friend or two can be very fun thing to do. For you who want to drive alone with the bike, you can get one of those scooters or if you want to share the bike, then you can rent the Honda Tiger 200 cc. This bike is probably the best for the Bali road. This couple driving around with 2 surfboards on the surf rack and still look comfortable..

If you have more than one friend to drive around, you should get the Suzuki Jimny/Samurai or even better is the Toyota Kijang that will accommodate up to 6 people. You can have it either with a driver or self drive. Just remember that in Indonesia, we drive on the left side of the road..

For the more serious surf trip, you can try to get the Toyota Land Cruiser. This beast has 4×4 drive option, just in case that you want to explore the uncrowded surf spots in Lombok and Sumbawa that can only reachable with this kind of vehicle .

Do you want to know how the local kids driving around with the surfboard, then you might be amazed. The kid on the backseat holds 2 surfboards, one on each arm and trying to keep it straight and balance. A wind gust can give a good work out for the arm muscles.

Great pics ebong. I went body boarding in Oregon this past weekend. The ocean up here is freezing despite wearing a full body suit and hood. Lots of fun though. Looking forward to migrating to a surf board.

That is what I was thinking - my fat arse could get used to resting my belly on the board.

Sean, I think there should be a link to check the wave condition for Indonesia. I suggest that you should put this link on Wave condition’s segment. On that top right SURF CATEGORIES box.

hello ebong(or nick)

nice to have found your blog. why have i never thought of searching for a bali-based blog?!!! your site has given me some information like, i’ve always heard of that bike with surfracks but i’ve never seen one? how do you upload your photographs onto the blog? do you need drivers on the local internet cafe computers to transfer using a USB connection from the camera memory card to the computer’s hard drive? anyway, just happy i found your blog.

Hi Edwin, you should bring your own drivers to internet cafe. But maybe some of them have the drivers too.

Hey there. I like you’re website. i’m coming to Bali in June from Canada , and I’m debating whether to bring my board or buy a new one when I get there.

What would the price range be for a shortboard in Bali?

Thanks, Katherine.
