Decent surf in Kuta Bali

Surfing is a big reason to come to Bali and the surf is great right now. You’ve got uncrowded waves, sunshine and some swell.

Once in a while I check out BaliWaves for the latest info on where is hot. Surfers are well aware of the navy charts that show swell size and direction. Being able to read those charts and accurately predicting the next big swell takes practice.

BaliWaves reckons there was a 1-3ft swell hitting tre outer reefs this morning. They reckon the best surfing in Indonesia until the end of the wet season in April are Bali and Sumbawa. Another good site is WannaSurf. They give detailed destination tips for the world, as well as Balinese surf breaks.
