Big surf in Bali on March 29th 2004

We have had some hug surf over the last couple of days in Bali.

DAILY TIDES
29th March
… LOW TIDE …
11:00am
… HIGH TIDE …
5:00pm

A friend of mine spent yesterday surfing Serangan and the wave height was reaching 4- 4.5 meters.

Don’t bother to get wet unless you are a decent size person with a big board. Most of the Balinese don’t like waves over 6ft and have trouble handling a big board, so all you big boys from Downunder this is perfect for you.

Here’s today’s shots from Canggu on he SW coast, Nusa Dua on the eastern end of the Bukit and Serangan on the SE coast.

Kuta Beach today was good for beginners with smallish waves and less wind than we’ve had recently.

I recently visited the people at Bali Learn To Surf on Kuta Beach to learn more about their services. Here’s what I found.

WIND CONDITIONS:… W 23 kph…

WEATHER:…Outside temp at the moment is 31ºc & with !! ….

EXCHANGE RATE:… Aussie Dollar $1.00 = Rp6325 Us Dollar $1.00 = Rp8600

Could you recommend a good affordable place to stay on the Nusa Dua side that is the best for staging surf trips? your comments would be much appreciated.
