Bali surf report on May 30th

Another big swell hit Bali on May 27; afternoon. Most people who read the wave forecast thought it will hit in by the 26th, but …. hey.. forecast is just a forecast. 24 hours late is still good enough.

On july 28th afternoon, the swell was at the best. Padang-padang works so well, 3-4 ft consistent with the light offshore wind and tide going low. And as usual the line up was full of the hot locals, expats gurus, hard core brazilians, Japanese bogeyboarder chicks, not to mentioned the photographers who swim around tryng to get the best position for taking the picture. Rubber boats and Jet Ski also seen running around between Uluwatu, Padang, Impossible and Bingin.

As I write this report today, the swell is slightly dropped. A friend of mine called up from Balangan around 9 am and told me that the surf there is 3-5 ft, with the tide going high. Just for the rough estimation, if Balangan is 3-5 ft, then Uluwatu will be 5-7 ft, Padang will be 2 to 4 ft, Impossible most likely will be 4-6 ft, Bingin might be 3-4 ft, and Dreamland is 3-5 ft.

Which one will be the best ?? It depends on the tide, swell direction and the wind.

Good luck and looks like another swell will hit again this weekends. So get your gear ready and sleep early.
