Bali Surf Report for June 16, 2003

Hi everyone
Sorry the surfreports have been a little lite on but the waves have been very small and the only spots surfable have been the beach breaks.

Today the swell is lapping on the shore break out on the Bukit, with some fun peaks down towards Legian , Seyminyak and Kuta areas. We have also been taking advantage of the full moon paddling out at a little rip bank lefthander and catching some fun waves on the beach breaks at around 10 pm for an hour or two last night. Okay we have a grunty west swell powering our way from way down in the Great Australian Bight, so all the boys are amped and ready for a good run of waves.
Thats it guys stay tubed this is Paul Callahan reporting for P.C surfboards and ByronBay Surfboards in Kuta Bali

Hi everyone, i’ll be visiting Bali in July. Can anyone tell me about the waves then? Does anyone know which place I should go that particular period for the best surf? thanks Matt

Hi Matt,

there are waves all through the year in Bali. And for the dry season April to October, the west coast of Bali is better as the wind will be offshore. The wet season is the opposite. You might want to surf the East coast of Bali.

It’s better you base yourself in Kuta/Legian for the first few days, and later you can always move more to the South, as the waves on the South are mostly the reefbreaks.

To get around, you can rent one of the scooter with the surfrack.
Cheers.
