Palu Waskiw manufactures surfboards here in Bali, and stopped into my house to give me the latest news on surf conditions in Bali. Having surfed most of the breaks from Timor to the Mentawai’s, Palu is a wealth of knowledge, especially for surfers on their first trip to Bali.
Right now is the wet season, meaning most surfers are on the eastern side of the Bukit and beaches heading east. These include Serangan, Nusa Dua, Sri Lanka, Hyatt Reef, Tanjungs, Sanur Reef, Padang Galak, Ketewel, Lebih, Keramas. Also don’t forget the breaks off of Nusa Lembongan, which are Playgrounds, Lacerations, Shipwrecks.

everywhere else at the moment is tiny tiny, except, nyang nyang and greenbowls, both of which were good early before the wind picked up.
also try these two spots late, if it glasses off.
please dont forget, give the old guys a go, ie., me!
cheers Nick, cheers Palu! Just wanted to let you know that yesterday we got 10cm of fresh snow here in Finland, it must be a wet season here also… We’ll be coming down there on May at some point and we don’t hurry back north this time, only one way flight tickets required. See you soon! Pekka
I went down to the beach this morning in Canggu. There were quite a few surfers out in the water, but the waves were quite small… probably ideal conditions for a beginner like myself.
