Here at Internet Outpost at 10pm its packed. Plenty of people from all over the world here right now and Kuta seems busy.
Is the mullet coming back in Australia? I saw a few screamers this evening in one party.
I have a new article about Gunung Kawi you might like to check out.
This afternoon I visited one of the very ordinary budget hotel in the Padma area of Legian and you’ll all get to read my exciting write up soon. This place was so great they had no manager on site and didn’t expect to have one for 2 more weeks…he’s in Java!
This evening I ate nasi goreng at Good Luck on Jl. Benesari in Kuta. With chicken it was 16,000rp and very good! They don’t soak it in grease and it was actually good.
What else is going on? Oh I watched a frog skip across my porch this afternoon. He was camping out in the bathroom and wanted some air.
Here’s an update on the election.

hey nick,
im a fan of your hotel reveiws and was just wondering if you new much about the bakung sari hotel, im looking at a lenghty stay there and theres nothing i cant stand more than a dirty bathroom or dodgy room! any info would be bagus!
thanks
hi nick,…i’m a balinese,, i just wanna say thank you , for your great web about my home land..bye
by the way Nick, have u tried to eat siobak at jalan kapten agung? it’s a balinesse traditional food. I always have my lunch there every time i visit bali…mmm it’s delicious, i guarantee that….sayonara..
G’Day Nick,
I gotta agree with Tracey on this one. The Mullet was disgusting!. Anyway, I have always used them as bait for deep-sea fishing!
Hi Kylie,
My mother actually stayed there a few years ago and she said it wasn’t that good. But she stayed in the old part because at that time the new units were just being built.
I suggest that if you go there then make sure you get the new places!. The actual cottages are a fair way down Jl Kartika Plaza and so you’ll have a walk to Bemo corner.
I’m not sure if Nick has done a review on the place yet, but if you want to check it out then just type ‘bakung sari cottages+bali’ in the URL box on Google. It’ll come up.
G’Day Folks,
Article in today’s Jakarta Post about political expenditure:
http://www.thejakartapost.com/detailheadlines.asp?fileid=20040709.A08&irec=7
I can think of better ways to utilise all that money in Indonesia considering abject poverty and high unemployment are rife.
Imagine all that money being spent just so you can have the privelidge of parking your arse in the highest seat in the country!.

Maaf ya about the double post Nick!
Bazza, wouldn’t be a case of disliking something one cannot have….?
Hee Hee Heee
Not meant to offend, but to humour, sorry!?
Tracey, as I’m writing this there’s a guy with a mmullet typing.
Kylie, I haven’t been to that hotel and know there are plenty with nice clean rooms and bathrooms.
Agung, is great to be in your homeland. Thank you for the tip.
i had a friend stayed at the bakung sari hotel on a cheap package from sydney and he had to leave because the state of the rooms wern’t the best-(i.e.dirty linen, green pool water, dodgy door lock).i wouldn’t recommend staying there… There are heaps of other cheap, clean more central hotels around the kuta area; i was in bali in may/june for a month and stayed at the TUNJUNG BALI INN in poppies lane 2-it was pretty good value!central, clean and great friendly staff. cost only RP80,000/ng/room for 3pax with hot water and breakfast-pretty good considering it just 12months old.
