Your favourite place in Bali

Where your favourite place in Bali? I’ve got a couple, which are suited to my different moods. Perfect Bali beach mood = Pasir Putih in East Bali, afternoon dessert & arak madu mood = Casa Luna in Ubud, live music and party party mood = Jl. Dhyana Pura in Seminyak, cool misty mountain retreat mood = Sanda Butik villas in Tabanan, Balinese market mood = Pasar Badung in Denpasar.

When people hear you have traveled, they ask questions like ‘where’s your favourite place?’ - a question that actually gets harder to answer the more you travel. Last week my friend Toby asked me “What’s the weirdest thing you’ve eaten?” My answer was dragonflies, although that’s not so weird. Howie Klein writes, that people ask him where his favourite place is and he answers “Bali.” He tells about his favourite part of the island, and also shares thoughts on the villa vs. hotel question.

I’d have to say in the village, partaking in ceremonies, this is my all time favourite in Bali..
my immediate family totally accept me, but the extended family want to get in closer for a better look & it’s quite exciting.

I also loved just sitting around in a guest house in the midst of the rice fields in Ubud during a torrential downpour!!!
It is still now one of my greatest memories in Bali as we wtached the frogs, eels etc slither & hop by… It was so peaceful & yet the rain was so loud!!!

I to have to agree with Tracey taking part in the Balinese Ceremonies with my Husbands Family .Whether it be in Besakih Temple or the family home temple ,the ceremonies are all very uplifting .The Balinese are such a welcoming culture to the tourist who marries into the family .They are a special kind of people who I am proud to have as family and close friends .
