What your money is worth in Bali: February 24th 2007

February is low season in Bali. This means lower prices, more empty rooms and less competition for deals. All sounds good but are you factoring in your exchange rate?

At ATM machines in Bali (BCA ones anyway), they tell you the denomination they hold, either 50,000rp or 100,000rp. I find it an advantage to have the smaller bills, as there is a shortage of change in Bali. The 100,000’s come in an orange colored plastic style and a newer read and white paper form. I have found the plastic ones can easily fall out of my wallet, if its inside my bag, due to the slippery coating.
