Tommy Suharto, the son of the former Indonesian dictator, was released from jail today. Tommy, real name Hutomo Mandala Putra, was serving a 15 sentence, for the contract killing of a Supreme court judge.

These days it seems that killing other people in this country, doesn’t warrant a very high sentence at all, with the release from jail of JI (Jemaah Islamiyah) chief Bashir, and more recently, 2 of the people who assisted in the 2002, Bali Bombings. According to reports, Tommy’s jail cell was more like the Ritz Carlton, than prison and he will now have to serve 1 years ‘house arrest’. So much for Indonesian justice.
