Saturday morning I got Jevon into his disposable diaper, short, shoes, and took him down the street for a coffee. Actually he doesn’t like coffee, but ever since he’s been around, we have both been going down to Cafe Seminyak once in a while.
Today was a very humid morning. I wore a thick cottom t-shirt and was sweating through it. The intense sunlight saw to it that I wore my Aussie hat, Jevon a baseball cap.
He’s can walk now, and could actually walk all the way down Jl. Seminyak to Bintang, but I carried him, incase he made a ash out into th street. My feet are getting better from the bbq burns, the right one though is still soar. we probably looked funny sight, old skinny guy with big hat, hobbling down the road clutching child.
At Cafe Seminyak I shared part of my chocolatine with Jevon, who can now get into adult food much better now his teeth are out. I also spooned him milk from my jug. Watching the traffic was fun enough for a while, then we went next door, to the trendy / punk clothing store. They have some bright lights, including a large purple light panel, with breast-like protrusions. He liked that one.
Carrying Jevon on my hip is no stress, neither is him being away from his mother for a short time. I think tourists with young kids will find their stay in Bali less stress than being at home, as locals understand kids need special attention.
