Surfing in Bali

surfboards‘What’s the surf like in Bali?’ I hear all you stay at home Aussie surfers yelling. Yesterday down on Kuta Beach the weather conditions were great, not too much wind and sunny. The swell was small though. A more professional report is provided by BaliWaves (these guys surf everyday!). As I’ve said before, the hardest wave I’ve ever surfed was in Kuta. Today, I’d probably head to Nusa Dua, on the eastern Bukit, due to the more favourable wind direction.

Nusa Dua is expected to get a 5ft swell besok, with a 5mph offshore wind. Some lucky bugger is going to get some waves.

I’ve been on the Bukit at Balangan and Bingin in March (off-season) and seen a dozen or so people enjoying decent waves. Don’t discount the wet season, that’s my tip.
