Australian Schapelle Corby, the drug trafficker currently doing time in Kerobokan jail for importing marijuana into Bali, could be moved to a jail in Java.

Kerobokan jail is severly overcrowded, and is not strictly a women’s prison. The fact that Corby has a 20 year sentence, means the government could choose to move her to a women’s prison in Malang, East Java. Corby states in he book, My Story, that she dreads being moved, as it will mean being further from her relatives. The good thing, is that Malang has a cooler climate, and is actually a nice part of the country.

The Australian and Indonesian governments have been working on a prisoner exchange which Corby doesn’t fancy either. Next time I visit, I’ll bring her that geology hammer and a large poster of Michael Jackson.
