Saturday night in Seminyak Bali

As the sun went down in Seminyak, on a steamy Saturday evening, one feels a slight lift in the static, that’s in the air. Its not the impending shower we might get, its the fact that after seeing the day out with a cold beer, or fruity drink at a beach-side bar, many people slink back to their place, to hibernate for a few hours. You feel like you’re in the eye of the storm almost, given that people are changing modes, and dress, for the late night party scene.

Friday night Ika and I went to Sin City, the flashy restaurant, bar on Jl. Dhyana Pura. The food is always good there and I got a pork chop for around 30,000rp, which came with assorted vegetables and fried potatoes. We sat on the porch, overlooking the street, which is accessed via 2 large plate glass doors. Re entering the restaurant to use the bathroom 15 minutes later, I almost split a glass door in half with my head. I stepped up right into it full pelt, and the staff came running over as my head went ‘GLONK’ on the glass. Its lucky there’s nothing in my head, otherwise we could of had problems.

Last night my plan was to watch Chelsea play Liverpool, which is kicked off early. A good place to watch soccer is Raja’s, located upstairs at Bintang supermarket. Sin City also sometimes shows soccer. The street that the restaurant is on, Jl. Dhyana Pura, I refer to as ‘Daytona’ after the way people ride motorbikes down it. You seriously have to watch out when crossing the road there, even though its a narrow street.

Sitting at home typing, I already stank, after having had 2 showers that day. My workout at Seaside, included a session on the running / ski machine, guaranteed to get the sweat rolling. Problem out here is getting it to stop rolling.

Don’t forget to check out nightlife guide before you go out in Bali.

Pretty exciting game that was –mind you nice to see the Chelsea jugernaut getting slowed up a bit.
Mind you i dislike soccer find it very hoohum but have a few Chelsea supporters in my face so like to see them somewhat subdued–for a change.
The washup after the ManU V\’s Arsenal game should be intewresting!
