Transport is always factor limiting where you stay and what you can do. People staying along Jl. Dhyana Pura or Jl. Sarinande can rent a motorbike or car quite cheaply a friendly local place called Sari Buana. This family owned place has a small office, with a few new looking motorbikes and a couple of small cars. It is located on Jl. Sarinande, across from the driveway heading to Sari Uma, Bali Agung Village and Villa Bale Agung. When I to chat the owner’s young kid was sucking a dummy (pacifier) while wearing the rental sign. Sari Buana is open daily from 9.30am-6pm. The prices for rentals are as follows:
Motorbike, (Nouvo) 30,000rp per day, 175,000rp per week, 600,000rp per month.
Car, (Sukuki Katana & Feroza) 100,000rp per day, 560,000rp per week.
Of course you should negotiate with them, as I’m sure you can get a deal. One car rental owner told me the other day that he was the first one on Jl. Dhyana Pura, then his friends opened their own car rental shops, nobody making any money.

Agreed. Thanks Rich. I appreciate your comments, which come as a breath of fresh air, when compared to some of the garbage I have to delete these days. There’s some real jackasses out there who better not come to Bali anytime soon!
I have not tested the Karimum yet, but your great advice makes me eager. For families the underpowered Kijang / Taruna is probably the best bet.
Cheers! Arrive Bali 2/11, pick up the Karimun the next day. It\’s a bit pricier than a Jimny but worth it. Any barbies coming up?
That’s a good price for a Feroza if you can get it. For a smoother ride, try the new Suzuki Karimum–it’s a micro van, but has 5 doors, and is perfect for a couple even with a kid! The Jimny/Katana are rugged but it’s a rough, underpowered ride in those things.
