Man Charged with Sex Offences in Indonesia

An Australian man detained by police on the Indonesian island of Lombok has been charged with having sexual relations with four underage boys.

Former Adelaide nightclub owner Don Storen is currently the director of the Senggigi Reef Resort on the Indonesian island of Lombok. Earlier this week four unidentified teenage boys were detained by police for stealing items from his hotel room.

Apparently it was then the boys made allegations against Storen which have led to him being named as a suspect accused of having sexual relations with the boys who have undergone medical examinations.

Looking at this situation a few scenarios come to mind. Yes he did it or, the boys lied to get out of being charged with stealing and invented the whole story of being sexually abused by the Lombok Resort director. It is a hard one to call.
However, Storen says he thinks he can prove he was elsewhere when the alleged offences occurred.

"I strenuously deny that the statement these boys gave and obviously they'd given them to make things a bit easy for them, maybe, I don't know" he said. "I'm very disappointed and I strenuously deny what they're saying."

Storen says he hopes to defeat the charges in court and no doubt he will. It's a pity they don't use lie detectors in Indonesia!. Or do they?.

Not really a surprise, after he has been there for many years. The only surprise is that it has taken such a long time.
So thank you boys for stealing!

Well, on the subject of lie detectors I remember resding in the Jakarta Post about 9 years ago the Jakarta Police owning up to some of their “interviewing techniques”. One of which was the simple but reliable “chair on the foot” whereby they position the suspect’s foot under a chair leg and sit on it. Basic and highly effective apparently.

Seen those lie detectors before. Paper thin with a plastic casing. Some with ’security’ features. Lots of zeros printed on both sides. Works like this. The more you have/part with, a less of a liar you’ll be. That’s the honest truth, in Indonesia.

I know Don too. If he is guilty of anything it is not paying up for work done. That is his M.O. not the allegations of these boys. Sounds like a payback.

The media does a disservice to the public when they superficially cover stories like this one about Don Storen. A quick investigation of Don’s past, and you will uncover many more similar accusations by other boys, other locations, as well as other criminal accusations such as fraud and theft. Go ask Holiday Resort Lombok why Don was asked to leave/abandon his residence in their family apartments in 2005. Ask the staff at Taman or Senggigi Reef about Don’s friends, especially the young & handsome Lombok BOYS he is often hanging out with. Or go to Sugar Cafe — the local gay club — and ask around there. Or call the owners of the Lombok Times and ask them about their court case against Don, or the numerous Australians they get emails from, people searching for Don because he apparently owes them money. “Innocent until proven guilty” is indeed true, but anyone who knows anything about Lombok know that this is one man who has escaped justice for too long.

i probably know don the best as he and i were flatmates for a long time. long enough to get to know someone very well.

i admit he does owe money and many people are not happy. however he was so set up because of this. it is a worry when you owe someone money and you get busted by some rent boys for being a pedofile.

i and many friends will strongly boycott Lombok. and indonesia. if the bombs didn\’t wake you up, then this fiasco should. most indonesian are total thieving misfits, pls. wake up australia….

it has nothing to with GAY, just another money making con by the miserable indonesian idiots… putting it mildly.

No, beck, this has nothing to do with making money, LombokSource is right, during the last about four years, he has been seen by so many people taking those young boys to his different places, this cannot be coincidence.
It might be, if you see him in the afternoon at the beach, there are a lot of young boys walking around, but if you see them in the middle of the night, coming from and going to his house, and not only once, but very often, there must surely be something wrong with him.

For me those boys are habitual prostitutes and their behaviour confirms that! The question here should be “not Storen’s past” or “How many boys storen had sex with during his life” but “”how many other foreigner and local those boys have sold their services to?”" I am stunned with the people reaction whenever a case involving adults and adolecents comes out… Why people always victimize the boys (they knew very well what they were doing and probably it was not the first time they did smething like this)… this case as many others is just being manipulated and its obvious that the loser will always be the acused… he will be jailed and the boys will continue engaging in homosexual acts (for money) and robbing many other foreigners and locals. The question here should be: is there any real victim?
