Kuta Karnival: Fun at the beach

This afternoon the sun was shining and crowds of mainly Balinese teenagers gathered on Kuta Beach, in anticipation of what the Kuta Karnival would bring them. Anyone driving along Jl. Pantai Kuta will notice the traffic blockages due to parking and pedestrians.

At around 4.30pm I stopped by at Kuta Halfway, and saw a guy being towed around by a jetski, commentators hollering over loudspeakers, describing his every action. A little ways further along the skatewboard rats were the focus of attention for hundreds of young Balinese, right next to the ramps a stage with local rock band, the highlight for me.

Checking all this stuff out is free, which is cool and the Kuta Karnival runs till sunday night.
