Ku De Ta: The crown jewel in Bali’s beachside crown

kudetaBali has a truly international flavour when it comes to restaurants, no pun intended. Seminyak / Petitenget is the epicenter of the restaurant scene in the Kuta area and the most famous beachside restaurant is Ku De Ta.

Located at the end of Jl. Oberoi next to the Pura Dalem (temple of the dead), Ku De Ta offers a beach-side location for breakfast, a cool European atmosphere for lunch and a sophisticated trendy place for sunset drinks and dinner. Not the cheapest place in town Ku De Ta does offer a breakfast menu which will give you eggs Benedict, a fruit salad and coffee for 70,000rp.

Ku De Ta is equally popular with expats and tourists, although expats have probably learned by now the breakfast and sunset drinks are the best deals. Ku De Ta does regular events which include dinner with a DJ. Here’s a short review of Ku De Ta from a recent visitor to Bali. This is what restaurant review site BaliEats has to say about Ku De Ta.

You can sunbathe at Ku De Ta and they offer a fresh water shower beach side. This is an awesome place for sunset drinks if you want to impress somebody or just spoil yourself.

Open daily from 8am – midnight.

I love Ku De Ta, went there with friends who were having a pre wedding cocktail party. Good crowd, music, people, decor and the waves of Seminyak Beach crashing under the spotlight. Expensive? Whatever, I live in Aspen and our dives make KuDeTa seem like a bargain. Sure you can do it on the cheap elsewhere there, but is that what it’s all about? Good DJ’s there too,… Actually I’d like to see a bit on La Luciiolla, (sp)

Fantastic, spoil yourself worth every cent. Eddie is right it does have a pretencious vibe to it but its great for a special occasion. Dont order the wine if your on a budget its not cheap! My personal experiences here have been fantastic. But I must say the Living Room is by far the best restaurant that I have been to in Bali. Well worth checking it out.

Ku DE TA is awesome- Went to Bali for a week, went to Kudeta almost everyday for beach, food, drinks- good looking people, good drinks, good music and great ambiance! The best and classier in Bali I found! GO there with BF/GF and have a blast!
