Krispy Kreme, the doughnut that cracked marketing in the US, will be opening up in Indonesia soon. There are 20 stores planned and my guess is at least 1 or 2 will be in the Kuta area. Here’s more form the Jakarta Post.
Krispy Kreme announces deal for Indonesia franchise
RALEIGH, North Carolina (AP): Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. announced Friday it will continue expanding overseas with a franchise deal in Indonesia.
The Winston-Salem-based doughnut maker said it has awarded development rights for 20 stores over 5 years to PT Premier Doughnut Indonesia. The first location is scheduled to open by September.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, though Krispy Kreme said it would not hold an ownership position in the franchise.
Since May, Krispy Kreme has announced franchise deals for stores in Hong Kong, Macau, Japan and the Middle East.
Krispy Kreme was founded in 1937 in Winston-Salem and now has about 300 stores and 90 satellite operations in the U.S., Australia, Canada, Mexico, South Korea and the United Kingdom.
