Jackfruit season in Bali

Bali is blessed with an abundance of tropical fruits. Some of my favourites are watermelon, papaya and mango. There is also a fruit called a wani, which looks like a large mango from the outside, but is white o the inside. Its delicious and is only found in Bali.

In my parking area there is a small shrine, its is situated next to some trees, which are bearing jackfruit. Ika told me that jackfruit season means ‘fly season’ and its true. Sitting at a Kuta restaurant the other day I had to place a napkin over my drink to keep the flies out.

Walking down Jl. Legian I stopped to snap a mango hanging from a tree. Its also mango season, and Bintang supermarket has some lovely mangos right now.
