Indonesia will not stop citizens travelling to Mid East

Indonesia has said it will not stop its citizens from travelling to the Middle East to join Muslim fighters against Israel. A spokesman said while the government hoped travel would be used for good purposes, it would not block anyone from coming back. Here’s more from Antara new agency.

The thought of Indonesians fighting with Hezbollah, seems a bit weird to me. Imagine the scene on the front lines, fighter planes and tanks are moving in, the Muslim fighters are hunkering down and suddenly….ding, ding, ding “Bakso, Bakso”. Or after the battle, dust settles, the fighters are looking around counting the wounded and someone pops up and says “Hallo boss, you look my painting ya, I have fighter plane, helicopter, tank.” Or what about those late night attacks, when it all dark in the alleys as the Muslim fighters are struggling to regroup. Around the corner from a bunker a fighter is approached by 2 ‘friendly’ comrades “Hiiiii, where you going, don’t gooooo, we’re came all the way from Seminyak.”

Okay war is not something to joke about, and I hope nobody actually thinks they can make a difference, by joining in the mayhem.
