Idul Adha in Bali Indonesia
Today is a very important day for Muslims around the world, including those here in Bali. The occassion is Idul Adha, a day which celebrates Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son for Allah (this religion seems to get off on pain for some reason). Allah allowed Abraham to kill a goat instead, so Muslims celebrate by visiting the masjid (mosque) then eating goat satay.
Ika and family, were up and off out, before I could blink, or even awaken. Jevon wore his outfit and experienced the occassion at a mosque in Tuban. I made sure nobody stole our lower bed, and was successful in that endeavour. The Islamic calendar has 11 months, so the dates for Ramadan, Idul Fitri and Idul Adha, change.
Selamat hari raya to all Muslims.
