Geo thermal energy: Indonesia’s answer to power problems

Living in Indonesia, it often feels like we’re in a natural war zone, with volcanoes, tsunami’s, mudflows, landslides, earthquakes etc. One potentially good thing about being in a volcanic
region, is the possibility of developing power from geo thermal sources.

According to scientists, Indonesia has the largest underground reservoir of superheated water in the world. Tapping that baby and putting it to work, could be the answer for the country’s electrical needs.

Why hasn’t this clean, free, renewable resource been tapped before? As MSNBC reports, investment and trust are the 2 stumbling blocks.
