Euro smokers stinking out Bali

Society is changing and one of the things that is becoming taboo, is smoking in public places. I don’t know about you, but lung cancer, early death, plus my hair, clothes and skin, stinking of cigarette smoke, are not something I want, least of all when the smoke comes from someone else. I’m a European, and have to say that here in Bali, the Euro’s are the worst offenders for sparking up anywhere, obviously not giving a damn about anyone else who happens to be around.

This morning at a Seminyak Cafe, it started raining. In shuffled 2 Euro guys, sitting next to me. Thirty seconds later, one of them is blowing smoke at me. I moved to the other side of the cafe. This evening while at a wi-fi place, I sat down and started typing. The guy 10ft away starts smoking, which drifts over. I suffer it for 20 minutes, before having to get up a sit elsewhere. As my friend Sean once said, “Why don’t you just take a hand full of shit, and rub it in my face?” In my new position 2 minutes, yet another Euro guy strolls in, sits next to me and starts smoking.

For all you healthy smokers out there, here’s what you’re sucking in everyday.

Fifty years from now, people will look back at the internal combustion engine and cigarettes, as remnants of the 20th Century, that polluted and killed millions of people. For now in Bali, I will just have to keep moving position.

I have plans to include Bali as a smoker friendly travel spot on my website. As more stupid smoking bans go into effect around the US and Europe expect those travel dollars and euros to be spent in places that are smoker friendly. If you are a smoking nazi you have tons of new places that big pharm has bribed officals to enforce your own brand of jackbooted thuggery on private property owners.
