Child safety: A British angle

Living in Bali, one becomes aware of the lack of safety, in many of things we participate in. The roads are a bit crazy, people spray chemicals around without a care, and the young kids are left to run along the country roads.

It all reminds me of Britain in the 70’s, when kids like myself used to leave the house after breakfast, head off to the local park and get back after dark. The new parks don’t have the dangerous stuff we used to play on and now have soft floors. Still, even back then we didn’t go in for this kind of dangerous activity. Makes any parent wince!
