Candi Dasa Bali

Okay here’s the deal folks. I’m here in Candi Dasa, East Bali. I’ve had a very active day checking stuff out and talking to locals. Internet connection is dial-up, meaning very slow. I have articles going up and plenty of photos. You can read the articles now, but the photos attached, will have to wait.

Getting out to Candi Dasa Bali

Here’s some news for all Bali travellers. The Kusamba Bypass has been completed. This means that from Sanur, you can drive straight through along the coast to just past Klungkung.

Its quite amazing to be zooming through areas of rice fields, with locals carrying bundles of wood on their heads and working the sawah. Its the 21st Century colliding with the 16th century.

I arrived in Candi Dasa at 9.30 am and checked into a small place next ot the beach, called Flamboyant. Its actually located just before Candi Dasa in a village called Senkidu. Flamboyant had about 16 or so small cottages, all basic with cold water. The asking price was 100,000rp. I paid 50,000rp. My guide book describes the rooms as ‘spotlessly clean’. I’d describe them as old and basic, with a need of renovation. Would I stay here again? Only if 50,000rp was all I could afford.

Didnt lookt too bad Nick really considering as it was at least clean. Put it this way Nick it could have been better but it could have been a damn sight worse.
