Bali weather: February 12th 2007

If you like hot steamy weather, Bali is the place. Yesterday was a cooker and around 4pm I had to take a shower to wash the layer of sweat off. This afteroonn while typing at a free wi-fi place in Seminyak, same deal. As soon as you get out of the AC or air-flow, you’ll sweat. Newcomers to Bali should make sure to down a couple of Pocari Sweats per day. These electrolyte drinks are great at maintaining body fluid / salt levels. Pocari Sweat is available at every Circle K and Mini Mart for 4,000rp.

My other tips include splashing on the sunblock before you go out (as I didn’t the other day), wear a hat and don’t try to walk 10 miles on your first day here. One of the most pleasant aspects of living in Bali is popping into a cafe / warung for a juice, tea or lassi. Break up your day and take a breather from the heat by finding a cool, shady place to relax.

Looking at the 10 day weather forecast for Bali, we’re in for hot days and nights, with sunshine the main factor.
