Soccer lovers are getting ready for a summer of fun. FIFA World Cup 2006 in Germany is kicking off on June 9th, featuring 32 nations. Among those countries are the USA, Australia, Iran, Brasil, Germany and Togo. Four years ago, my friends at BootsnAll.com put together a ‘garage-style’ website, on the eve of the competition that turned out quite well. We called it World Cup Blog.

This time around we’re all going to the World Cup, and our site now features 32 blog sites, 1 for each country. Its a lot of fun, and when the games start we’ll be writing all kinds of nonsense, as well as some factual stuff about football. If you want to follow World Cup 2006, bookmark the site and check us out a few times a day. Advertise your business there too, its easy.

The great thnig about World Cup Blog, is that you can post comments, just like Baliblog. All the other big football sites, like FIFA.com do not allow you to do this, as they are not really interested in what you think (same for most of the big hotel bookers here in Bali).

If you are in Bali during the World Cup 2006, there will be games on TV, although fairly late. Europe is 7 hours behind and the earliest games are likely to start around 9pm, Bali time. If you want to travel to Germany for the FIFA World Cup 2006, here’s a link to our World Cup travel section.

The Beach House in Gili Trawangan is hosting a month long world cup bonanza, 24 hour a day openings, shuttle fast boats from Bali in under 2 hours to watch your team on a massive beach screen.
reduced rates on rooms and promotions on beers.

looks like it will be good

Is there anywhere in Bali that we can go to watch the World Cup games live on TV?

The question is…is there anywhere in bali where you can go to avoid watching the World Cup. During the World Cup…there are televisions on every where…in McDonald’s, in the hotels…I’ve even seen guys sitting on the sidewalks with TV’s plugged into extension cords watching the games in front of their shops.

I’m not sure if these games are all broadcast live, but there are several sports bars where there will most definitely be live game broadcasts.
