The time is right for Americans to visit Bali
The strengthening US dollar against the rupiah makes this a great time to visit Bali for Americans. One of the main reasons for people to visit Bali is affordability. Its cheap compared to most other places and you can pamper yourself with creature comforts all day long without going broke.
As of July 5th the rupiah is trading at: 1.00 USD United States Dollars = 9,895.00 IDR
What this means to someone coming over from the US is that you can buy a small in bar for under a dollar, get a plate of Indonesian food for under a dollar and find a place to stay for as little as $4. Taxis are cheap in Bali with a flag rate of 4,000rp. Seminyak to Kuta will cost around 12,000rp maybe. An hours massage will cost 70,000rp depending on where you go, a main course in a restaurant will cost 40,000rp as will a daily rental of a motorbike.
If you want to live it up and drink margaritas in clubs designed to look like California you'll pay California prices, but you have so many other options. Buy a CD or DVD for 10,000rp, a t-shirt for 10,000rp and a pair of shorts for 20,000rp. Hire a car and driver for the day for 200,000rp and take advantage of all the free stuff Bali offers, great weather, awesome surfing, friendly people and a unique culture.

never will i spend one dollar there after what the screwed up government did to corby never until this situation is rectified. the government can’t be trusted why in the world would i want to go to a country like that . everyone i know has heard of corbys case and will not go to bali because of it. don’t need our dollars fine keep her in jail. the officials there must be truly STUPID!! dumb as bricks as we say in the usa

Im an American and I am so looking forward to visiting Bali later this year…I visit this website everyday and devour every tidbit of new information. As an American, I ask the rest of the world to please not stereotype us. Many of us are just simple nice people with a sincere desire to witness, expreience and share in the lives of others of different cultures.
