Sound of the gamelan in Legian Bali

One of the magical things about living in Bali is the sound of the gamelan orchestra. In the evening along Jl. Legian you hear the loud sycopated ‘rattle, glong, glong’ of the traditional Balinese orchestra.

Balinese men used to work in the fields, or on some kind of artwork during the day, then practice the gamelan under the banjar pavillion in the evenings. In modern times the youth is less interested and would rather hang out. Still this evening I stuck my head into a gamelan pavillion and recorded the sound of the evening practice for you.

For people who have visited Bali I hope this brings back memories.
