Bali has a number of traditional cloths including batik, ikat and songket. The art of making these is passed down from generation to generation and they are used for daily life and religious ceremonies.
The small village of Belayu, which is 3km north on Mengwi (Taman Ayun), the songket sarongs are woven with a fine golden thread. These songkets are only for ceremonial use and are amde of silk.
