SOBEK: The leading adventure company in Bali
Close to the town of Ubud on the main that runs N-S through Sayan there is the office of SOBEK, Asia's most comprehensive adventure company. SOBEK provides an integrated collection of adventure programs throughout Indonesia and is considered by some to be the pioneer of white water rafting. The 2 rivers where SOBEK offers rafting are the Ayung River, Bali's longest, and the Telaga Waja River in East Bali.The wet season in Bali is from Novemeber to March pretty much, so bear in mind the rivers will be flowing much higher during these times.
SOBEK can accomodate people from 7-64 years and offers Cycling, Trekking, Teamwork & Leadership Skills Courses, Group Events, as well as rafting. The cost of the rafting trips is $68 for an adult and $45 for a child (7-15). SOBEK's gear is all industry standard approved from American adn Australia and the place a high value on training.
The 2 cycling trips offered are the Batur Trail and the Batukaru Trail. These trips take you to high elevations and lead you through villages with some stunning scenery. A support vehicle is on standby in case you feel like taking a breather. The price of the Batur cycle trip is the same as the Rafting. The Batukaru trip has to be arranged in advance.
For people looking for an easy intro to adventure sports in Bali this would be a good option.
