Round The World Air Tickets can include Bali

Getting to Bali is part of the whole Bali picture and for 98% of foreigners that means flying into Ngurah Rai airport. People using RTW (Round the World) air tickets make Bali a stop on their agenda too. RTW tickets are a series of one-way tickets strung together and can make for an exciting trip.

My LP guide says "Round-the-world (RTW) that include Bali are usually offered by an alliance of several airlines, and give you a year in which to circumnavigate the globe. Because Bali is a long way from Europe, and almost on the other side of the world from N. America, RTW tickets can be a great deal – you might be able to visit several places in Asia, Australia, Europe and N. America for about the same cost as a simple return flight to Bali. Denpasar has a variety of connections to the east ( Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, New Zealand) and west ( Jakarta, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok), so it can fit in well with many RTW itineraries."

I agree with that assessment and advise people to browse BootsnAll's Trip Planner. This handy dandy little engine allows you to build your own RTW and get a price immediately! Its fun to see all the places you might go, and don't forget to add overland sections. For example you can fly from Sydney to Singapore, then travel up to Bangkok, fly to Istanbul and travel to Paris. Smart travellers who want to maximize their time and money would probably look at a RTW ticket as a 'continent hopper', flying from one major hub to another and spending the bulk of their time travelling overland in cheap countries.
