Bali has hundreds of internet cafes and the standard varies greatly. On one end of the scale you get leather captain's chairs, AC, coffee menu, broadband and flat screen monitors. On the other end of the scale you get sweat boxes, dial up access, tiny monitors / desks/ chairs, and lousy software. I still haven't found the perfect internet cafe, but here is what I like.
1. It has to be AC, otherwise I will melt during the day.
2. Hardware should USB ports at the front of the machine so I can hook up my camera and other hardware easily.
3. Monitors should be large, whether flat screen or not.
4. Connection should not be dial up.
5. Cafe should be no smoking
6. Software should be Windows without too many restrictions and include Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop.
7. Drinks should be available.
8. Toilets should be available.
9. Price should be reasonable.
10. Printer should be attached.
