In the last 20 years there has been a tremendous change in the food available in Bali. I remember in the early 90’s there were no American fast food outlets and most of the places in Kuta were local warungs offering the usual nasi goreng and banana pancakes. That has changed. McDonald’s, KFC and others have come. The good news is that many independent restaurants have also opened, featuring cuisine from all over the world. Friends of mine who recently visited from Oregon and who are vegetarians raved about the amazing vegetarian food.
