Here in Indonesia a waterfall is called an 'Air Terjun' and is considered an auspicious place. You always find some kind temple there and the waterfalls seem to excite tourists too. This afternoon I rode over to Sukawati, the town in Gianyar regency that is of great significance to Balinese history. My objective was to check out a waterfall I had not seen before. Looking at my map ( I have 2, 1 by Periplus, the other by Berndtson) I figured out the quickest way to get there was to head towards Gianyar on the road that passes through Sukawati and before Blahbatuh, hang a right down some local street. Sometimes I get lucky and spot the turnoff straight away (unmarked of course). Today was one of those days and I stopped into a small shop on the main road to ask if the turnoff I spotted was the right one. It was and after another 3 minutes of riding I came to a green sign that said 'Welcome to Tegehungan-WATERFALL AIR TERJUN'.
Riding down that lane I came to a couple of small shacks selling drinks and was immediately surrounded by kids selling fans. These kids were not like the usual annoying nick-nack sellers, they were cute and almost sang in harmony 'You buy one fan'. They told me business way very slow because tourists don't come here very much and that I could bargain. The view of the waterfall was right there, so I sipped a cold drink and snapped a few photos. Not wanting a fan for 20,000rp I told the lady who owned the shop to give all the kids a drink on me. Drinks were 4,000rp a pop so everyone got a drink and I got to be left alone.

Does the waterfall have a restaurant on the high side of the road and a bungy jump on the far bank?
If so it used to be a very popular place 10 years ago with many tourists visiting for lunch.
Unfortunately the warung was built and completely blocked the view from the restaurant so it fell from favour.
