Surfers in Bali got their money’s worth today, with strong swell, big waves and sunny conditions. As BaliWaves says, conditions were a bit wild but even I had people smsing me telling me the surf was up.
Kenny from Australia, owner of the guest house in the middle of Bingin beach told me he had to move out, so fully booked has his place been this season. Looking at the surf report for Uluwatu from Magic Seaweed, we see good swell size but those strong July winds still blowing at around 15mph.
The Rip Curl trials at Padang Padang should of been on today so that competition is something you might like to check out if you’re coming to Bali.

Thanks, very much for your wonderful blog!
Correct grammar gives credibility to bloggers and their posts, and incorrect grammar takes some of this credibility away.
The correct grammatical construction is “should have” not “should of,” as in:
“The Rip Curl trials at Padang Padang should HAVE been on today …” instead of “The Rip Curl trials at Padang Padang should OF been on today …”
I offer this correction in the hope that it helps you to be even more successful in bringing the world news from Bali. My wife (from Buleleng) and I live in Santa Rosa, California, and I Bali terribly. I read your blog nearly every morning (not quite the same as being in Bali, but almost as good … and a LOT less expensive than a plane ticket to Denpasar!).
I’m afraid I managed to screw up the second to last sentence of my original comment. You may want to edit out this remark, and publish the text below … which is identical to my original comment but with the correction included (or not, as you see fit). Thanks again, and best wishes.
