Bali has so much to offer a visitor. Like a chick who can count, owns a Jag, juggles 6 balls and can tie a knot in a cheery stalk with her tongue, Bali is a multi-talented babe.
One aspect of the travel industry that most of us are unaware of, is conferences. Nusa Dua has hosted the PATA conference, and hotels such as the Kuta Paradiso, can handle large gatherings downtown.
One recent visitor is Sander Chan, who, if he makes it through his presentation, will ‘escape’ his Nusa Dua fortress and come to Kuta. Another recent recipient of Nusa Dua’s conference hospitality, was Mr Nuclear (Mahmoud Ahmadinejad), who unfortunately, did not make it over the fence, and get to Kuta.
Bali is a great location for a conference, because it has the hotel and meeting room facilities, great year round weather, international airport right there, is on the beach, and is way cheaper than Hong Kong, Singapore, Hawaii, Florida, Gold Coast. C’mon men in grey suits, grab your brief case and hold your meeting in Bali.

Not everyone cares where Sydney is. Bali is in a great location, for conferences that involve Asians, Pacific Islanders, Australians and Africans.
Global conferences involving thousands of participants can be held at Nusa Dua, home to some of the best resorts in the world, ask Travel & Leisure.
Re internet. Bali has recently got DSL. There are also providers who can for a price, though not a cheap one, get you your 58mb presentation file. You are not going to have a great time at internet cafes though.
Are you kidding?
Here’s the things Bali needs to be a confrence alternative to the above listed places:
1) good transport - hi, my presentation is in 5 minutes. step on it. uh.. no.
2) good internet - hi, i need to download my 58mb presentation file to my laptop. just turn on the wifi? uh.. no.
3) location - it’s 9 hours from sydney is it not?
compared to gold coast’s 1 hour.
